Turning Home

This weekend Devin, me, my brother (Patrick), his girlfriend (Karen), and my mom drove to Birmingham to see David Nail at Cafe Firenze. My friends Jake and Jordan also stopped in for a while (not long enough to get a picture of them).

David is a Grammy nominated country music artist and a Kennett, Missouri native. His dad was my band teacher. And back in the day, my mom went on her first date to his parents' wedding (Mom was 14). Not only does being from my hometown make David Nail so awesome, but his bassist, Kyle Kelly, is also a KHS grad! Cool, right? There was much Kennett love to go around.

The band was A.W.E.S.O.M.E. I mean, the CD is pretty amazing, but somehow live was even better! I was completely blown away! Not literally though, it was freaking HOT in there! Sooo many people it had to have been sold out. Anyway, I'm not even a huge fan of country music but so many songs on his CD (I'm About to Come Alive) remind me of home, and I absolutely love them. In fact, I cry nearly every time I hear "Turning Home." And this guy can sing. There is no question about that!
